Is Outbound Marketing Broken?
Internet Marketing
Every day we are bombarded with marketing messages.
So what do we do?
We create more techniques to block out those messages... that’s what we do.
For example, we fast forward through the advertisements on television... we have spam filters on our email... we have caller ID on our telephones
But if Outbound Marketing is not working as well as it used to, how are some companies still growing rapidly?
The answer is in Inbound Marketing... it's using a bunch of different techniques to get your business found by people and to convert them into leads and customers... by being in all the right places that those people are looking.
The numbers don’t lie...
* Twitter doubles in size every 90 days and by Christmas there will be an estimated 50,000,000 people on Twitter
* Facebook has 355.000.000 users and is adding 350,000 people a day. The fastest growing segment is people who are 50 years and older. I wonder how many investment advisors and financial planners have a presence on Facebook?
* YouTube has had 75,000,000 video viewings and is going from strength to strength
* 18 to 34 year olds spend 40% of free time on social media sites. Do you think if these people became your clients you could have them as clients for life? Not a bad idea for accountants and lawyers... and equally important for retailers who are hoping and praying that customers will walk in their door
