Why, Why, Why... do I do it?

I write an Internet Marketing Ezine and I thought this week I would ask my readers...
"Do you ever wonder why I write these ezines every week?
I mean let’s face it... there’s no offer, no special product for 50% off, no deadline imposed on you to buy, no upsell?
So what the hell am I doing?
Well.... according to one of my readers, I am scaring the hell out of him. Yep, he emailed me last week to say just that.
Now, that’s not quite the comment that I had hoped for but it does mean that we have connected, we have engaged.

But that’s just part of the story.
Here is the reason why I really write these ezines.
The truth is they bring a steady stream of enquiries... yes, a steady stream of enquiries.
And here’s the big thing!
The people already know me from my mailings so they feel comfortable enough to make an enquiry... because they have been reading my ezines regularly.
Now, guess what?
They are not necessarily even on my subscriber list because subscribers will forward an article onto their friends and associates if it has value.
Phwooo Haaaa... Al Pacino would say.
Now can someone please tell me why in a recent study of Australian small to medium size enterprises where 2,300 responded... a mere 14% used email marketing to communicate to either new or existing customers when valuable communication can work in every industry?"
