2011 is going to be interesting
Business
I guess you are counting down to Christmas and the chance to give your brain a rest from all of the business hype.
But there’ll be some time as New Year’s Eve gets closer... when you’ll start to think about 2011 and what it will bring... and that’s when I would like you to read this again
You see... there are two types of business metrics.
Those that tell you what has happened and
Those that tell you what will happen... predictive metrics
Many businesses are overwhelmed by the past... needing to finalise financial reports and pay taxes... or complete the myriad of compliance obligations that the government is choking us with
So I encourage you think about your Predictive Metrics for 2011... like how many sales calls did your people make this week or how many opt-ins did you have to your email database or how many complaints did you have... they are some of the important numbers that will tell you what is going to happen in your business
You will only have to take this approach to be well ahead of your competitors in 2011.
So what do you think?... Is it going to be an interesting year ahead?
I think the answer is yes for all of those countries that have governments that keep spending endlessly.
The USA could go belly up... if countries like China and the Middle East oil producers bail out of the US dollar as a valued currency... hard to contemplate I know... but there are rumours of a US dollar devaluation
I am going to write more about tangible business strategy in 2011... that is, if you are interested? Then there’s video and the trend towards websites suited to mobile platforms like iPhones and iPads
I hope that the Holiday Period is kind to you and thank you for reading my thoughts this year.
As always, you are welcome to post your questions and comments below
Keep your
powder dry,
Warren Cottis
