Yes, $20 billion.
That’s the level of online shopping predicted for Australians this year by IBIS World
That’s an increase of 4.7% whilst other countries are still struggling with the aftermath of the GFC
Whilst Australians are right up there in world statistics for embracing the internet, online sales in Australia represent only 5.5% of all retail sales.
That is well below levels in the UK and the USA.
IBIS World said... “If Australian retailers do not embrace online sales, they could lose billions of dollars in potential sales to specialist stores and foreign competitors”
So there’s the opportunity!
It is the right time to take your business or your business idea online.
If you are thinking of organic farming... think about a 14.8% increase in sales revenue to $425 million.
What’s that? You’re not into farming.
No problem... but if you don’t have any organic farmers in your customer base you might want to consider pitching to them... they are going to have the money.
And what about the Alternative Health Therapies as the 7th biggest growth industry?
Or Weight Loss Services and Baby Products coming in at 9th and 10th respectively?
If your business is not online it should be.
If you are not selling to these online growth businesses you should be.
But 99% plus of websites are invisible and never make any sales so you need to get ahead of the pack... let me take your hand.
